The staff are friendly, but the owner is irresponsible and neglectful. Do not get anything repaired here. I left a broken window with the owner who assured me I'd have it repaired and returned to me in 2 weeks (before the season would turn cold). I like the store (I was a frequent customer) and want to support local businesses, so I happily agreed. Three weeks later I never received a phone call, so I went to the shop. There I found out from one of his employees that they were unable to perform the repair on sight, so they had sent it to another shop to be repaired. Had they bothered to reach out to me before doing this I would have taken it elsewhere myself. Sadly, they left me out of that decision. Another 2 weeks go by and I hear nothing from the store, so I again drive there to find out what's going on. By this point, the back of my house is consistently 20º colder than the front of my house thanks to the lack of a window. I'm told by an employee that the window was STILL waiting for repair at the other shop and that they'd call me as soon as it was ready. Again, that call never came. This time, I call the owner's cell and leave a message asking that my window be returned to me. He never returned my call. After another 2 weeks I call again, this time insisting I have my window returned with or without a repair. I'm told that the shop they'd sent it to was unable to perform the repair and in another week it would be returned to me still broken. I ask to speak to the owner, and after a few minutes go by the same employee corrects themselves, saying that, in fact, the window HAD been repaired and it had been sitting around the shop for a FEW WEEKS. This meant the last time I'd visited the shop to inquire about the window it had been there, ready to go. The employees couldn't have known this thanks to the owner who single-handedly runs the repairs business refuses to share project updates with his employees. Thanks to their horrible record keeping and the owners incredible lack of responsibility, discipline, etiquette, and common sense, my 2 week window repair turned into almost 2 months of waiting and frustration, doubling my heating bill for half my house and irreparably damaging the reputation of what otherwise is a great little local hardware store. Need nails or gardening supplies quickly? Want a smaller hardware store with very friendly and helpful employees? This place is great for all of this! Just do. Not. Get. Something. Repaired. Here. Working with the owner should be avoided.
